Per usual, Karl Lagerfeld knocked it out of the park with the latest Chanel show. "It's the first time in my whole career I've done a collection without black or navy. There's not one gold button," he told reporters. What replaced his go-to hues? Silver and pastels. The traditional Chanel pearls show up as trim on the bottoms of the space age shoes.
The look carried over to the makeup, too. "Karl gave me three key words: Neon Baroque, Chemical Pastels and Liquid Silver, said Peter Philips, Global Creative Director of Chanel Makeup. "For the lips I used the new Summer 2010 Rouge Allure Lipstick in Genial. This coral shade perfectly matched the spirit Karl wanted for the makeup at this show."

We were so inspired by the gorge silver nails, we broke out our bottle of Essie's Loophole, circa 2007. It doesn't have quite the same slick sheen at the Chanel Silver polish does, but until that one hits our shores, it will have to do.
